Our Partnership with Nsimbi Impact
WorldWise Microfinance will work with Nsimbi Impact in the community of Mbarara, located in the Western Region of Uganda, about 165 miles from Kampala. The community is primarily agricultural, with approximately 65% of the population engaged in growing crops and raising livestock. Key crops include matooke ( Bananas), maize, Sweet Potatoes, cabbage, Millet, beans, yams, and cassava, while livestock primarily consists of poultry, pigs, goats, and cattle.
Our Program in Uganda
In Uganda, more than 75% of young women drop out of school before reaching high school. Many are married off by the age of 18, and an alarming 56% of married women experience domestic violence by the age of 30. In an effort to improve their livelihoods, many women turn to entrepreneurship. However, due to limited access to funding, these businesses often struggle to survive.
Nsimbi Impact’s commitment to supporting and developing female leadership makes this partnership a natural fit for WorldWise Microfinance. The first loans were issued in early 2025, following our proven lending group model. This model involves groups of 6 to 8 members who all receive loans simultaneously. No member of the group can take out a subsequent loan until all members have fully repaid their first loans. This approach fosters a sense of peer pressure and peer support, contributing significantly to the program’s success.
Breaking Down Barriers to Financial Access
Women entrepreneurs in East Africa face substantial barriers when it comes to accessing financial services. These challenges include:
- A lack of collateral
- Limited financial literacy
- Restricted access to formal banking systems, especially in rural areas with underdeveloped infrastructure
As a result, many women struggle to secure the credit and financial tools necessary to grow their businesses. This financial exclusion stifles economic potential and limits opportunities for improving livelihoods.
Through this partnership, WorldWise Microfinance and Nsimbi Impact aim to expand access to financial services and empower women to build sustainable businesses that contribute positively to their communities’ development. We are proud to collaborate with a partner that has extensive experience in fostering local economic growth and supporting women-led MSMEs.
Why This Partnership Matters
Partnering with WorldWise Microfinance aligns perfectly with our mission to provide underserved women entrepreneurs with the financial tools they need to succeed. Together, we can scale our efforts to break down the systemic barriers that limit women’s access to capital and enable them to build sustainable, thriving businesses that uplift their communities.
