A Word from WorldWise
Ironically, for Tom Eggert, running an organization that provides microloans has not been all about the money. That’s where the programs through his Madison-based nonprofit start, but WorldWise Microfinance is working to rewrite the script on microlenders.
The nonprofit has spent its 15 years in operation leveraging global connections to support entrepreneurs in countries with high rates of poverty and other obstacles. Its sustainable programs have spurred growth — economically and otherwise — in communities across multiple continents.
WorldWise Microfinance’s newest partnership with Ugandan nonprofit Nsimbi Impact shows that its dual goal of bolstering entrepreneurs — particularly women founders — and improving communities’ quality of life is doable when generosity and mutual accountability unite.

New Program in Uganda
Wisconsin Microfinance is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Nsimbi Impact in Uganda. Nsimbi Impact supports female entrepreneurs and fosters sustainable growth across Sub-Saharan Africa. funding opportunities for female entrepreneurs, our microfinance model provides critical support.
“Partnering with Wisconsin Microfinance aligns perfectly with our mission to provide underserved women with the financial tools they need to succeed,” said Barbara Mutabazi Nsimbi Impact founder & CEO,
Following our lending group model, the first loans were issued in early 2025. Groups of 6-8 women received loans together, ensuring mutual accountability so no member can take another loan until all have repaid. This structure strengthens community ties and financial success.
Women entrepreneurs in East Africa often face lack of collateral, limited financial literacy, and restricted banking access, preventing business growth. Our program in Uganda will address these challenges by expanding financial services, enabling women to build sustainable businesses and uplift their communities.
Together, we’re creating real change. Stay tuned for updates on this impactful collaboration! -
