Maximize Your Giving Impact To Support the Mission of Microfinance
WorldWise Microfinance relies on the generosity of our donors to reach across international borders and create opportunities for individuals that have been left out of the local economy. We are extremely grateful that you would consider supporting our mission, and would like to suggest the following ways to support WorldWise Microfinance while minimizing your taxes.
- Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs): For people aged 73 or over who must take a distribution from their Traditional IRA (called a Required Minimum Distribution or RMD), you can satisfy the IRS’s requirement to take the distribution but not have that distribution count as income by directing the distribution to WorldWise Microfinance. This Qualified Charitable Distribution is directed by you but must come directly from the company that holds your IRA. Schwab, Fidelity, Vangard, or whoever hosts your IRA would be directed to send a check (or electronic distribution) directly to WorldWise Microfinance as a Qualified Charitable Distribution.
- Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs): DAFs function like charitable savings accounts, offering flexible options for how much and when to give – now or in the future. With the recent changes to the tax laws, making a large donation to a Donor Advised Fund (held by a custodian, such as the Madison Community Foundation) will allow you to deduct your donation in the year that it is made, but then distribute that donation over many years in the future.
- Gifts of Appreciated Stock: Donating long-term appreciated securities is one of the most effective ways to give. Contact us for help in setting this up.
- Life Insurance: Designate WorldWise Microfinance as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy.
- Real Estate: Donate real estate to WorldWise Microfinance by setting up a life estate. Contact us for help in setting this up.
- Double Your Impact: Employer Matching Program: Corporate matching gifts are donations made by a company to a nonprofit that an employee has supported. To find out if your employer has a matching gift program, please contact your human resource department.
